Hyde Park, London |

About thirty parishioners travelled to Hyde Park on a glorious day. We settled down as a group and prepared for the few hours wait. The time went by quickly as we were entertained to music, dance, singing and moving words from people who explained what their faith meant to them and how it had got them through difficult times. The whole Vigil Service was very moving and emotional at times. The singing was beautiful but the most amazing moment was during the Adoration when the whole park of 80,000 people were in silence in the dark. It was truly awesome. |

Cofton Park, Birmingham |

Seven of us from St. Paul's joined with those from Worth and Crawley parishes and travelled by coach to Birmingham. Arriving at 4.30 am enabled us to get prime spots close to the front. Time passed quickly as the organisers played great music and put thought provoking thoughts from Cardinal Newman on the giant screens. Overall, the pilgrimage was a really memorable experience. It was a privilege to be part of the Mass and the singing from the 2,000 strong choir was inspirational. The atmosphere in the park with 55,000 people of all ages present was very good natured. |
