PARISH MISSION FROM 10 – 25 SEPTEMBER 2011

Led by the Sion Community from Brentwood in Essex

“Wake up, sleeper ”

(taken from Ephesians 5:14)

Our eagerly awaited Parish Mission is now here. It begins on Saturday 10th and ends on Sunday 25th September.
The first week (11th-16th September) is visiting week. A visiting team of 8 from the Sion Community, joined by some of our parishioners will try to visit as many households in the parish as possible. When they call at your home, please give them a warm welcome.

During this week, Mass times will be as usual both on weekdays and at the weekend. On Saturday 17th, there will be “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament” from 10am to 10pm.

The second week of the mission begins on Saturday 17th September when the “Celebration Team” arrives, and they will conduct all the masses and services throughout the week.

Please try and join in as many events as possible.

On Sunday 25th at 12 noon, there will be a “Parish Party” at St. Joseph’s School Hall for us to celebrate the Mission together.
Please bring a plate of food to share and join in the activities.

The Sion Team will introduce themselves at all Masses on the first weekend and the Mission Priest will give the Homily.

Programme for week two

Sat 17 Sep

10 am – 10 pm Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
3 pm Celebration Team arrives.

 5 pm Mass at Staplefield.
Sun 18 Sep

Masses at St Paul’s 8.30 & 10.30 am and 5 pm.

3 pm Service for all those involved in Parish Ministries.
Youth Event after 5 pm Mass with Pizza (led by the Sion Team).
Mon 19 Sep

6.30 am Early Mass (Light breakfast provided).
9 am  Rosary.
9.30 am Mass with faith sharing from one of the team.
10.15 am Prayer Experience----Tea & Coffee.

8 pm Mission Service.
Theme: Wake Up - to the enormity of God’s Love.
Scripture: Luke 15:11-24
Tue 20 Sep

6.30 am Early Mass (Light breakfast provided).
9 am  Rosary.
9.30 am Mass with faith sharing from one of the team.
10.15 am Prayer Experience----Tea & Coffee.

8 pm Mission Reconciliation Service.
Theme: Wake Up - Be Reconciled.
Scripture:2 Peter 3:9
Wed 21 Sep

6.30 am Early Mass (Light breakfast provided).
9 am  Rosary.
9.30 am Mass with faith sharing from one of the team.
10.15 am Prayer Experience----Tea & Coffee.

8 pm Mission Service.
Theme: Wake Up - Know that you are saved.
Scripture: 1 John 4:10
Thu 22 Sep

6.30 am Early Mass (Light breakfast provided).
9 am  Rosary.
9.30 am Mass with faith sharing from one of the team.
10.15 am Prayer Experience----Tea & Coffee.

8 pm  Mission Service.
Theme: Wake Up - Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Ephesians 5:14-18
Fri 23 Sep

6.30 am Early Mass (Light breakfast provided).
9 am  Rosary.
9.30 am Mass with faith sharing from one of the team.
10.15 am Prayer Experience----Tea & Coffee.

8 pm Mission Service.
Theme: Wake Up - And Go.
Scripture: Acts 1:8
Sat 24 Sep

9.30 am Morning Prayer.
10.30 am Reconciliation.

2.30 pm Mass of Healing (with sacrament of the sick).
5 pm  Mass at Staplefield.
Sun 25 Sep

Masses at St Paul’s 8.30 & 10.30 am and 5 pm.
12 noon “Parish Party” - St. Joseph’s School Hall.
